Frustration

Today I was so disappointed at myself because I didn’t do a good job in tennis club. The club leader asked a junior student to play tennis with me, but he was already a professional player. Compared to him, I was really awkward with tennis. That made me feel really frustrated. I really wanted to improve my tennis skills but there were no girls in tennis club expect me. Therefore, I didn’t have a “girl” competitor. I always played tennis with boys. Sometimes I questioned myself if I wanted to keep playing tennis or not because I didn’t even improve my tennis skills even though I went to tennis club every week. I believed that it was just my temporary frustration. I thought that I will keep playing tennis as always.

How lucky she was!

My elder sister took part in an activity which was held by COSMED. The activity was about living healthily and staying fit. Everyone who took part in this activity can draw a winning if they can lose three kilograms in one month. My sister tried really hard. She exercised at home by wagging a hula hoop. She ate less food than she used to eat. She did lose three kilograms in one month. Therefore, she can draw a winning. Recently, she told me that she won 5000 NT dollars by drawing a winning. How lucky she was!

Lazy,dirty,slovenly

Oliver woke up this morning and found out that he was going to be late to school. He shouted at his mother and said “Go and prepare breakfast for me.” Oliver didn’t change his uniform because he didn’t even take a bath last night. Oliver couldn’t find his socks in the closet. Therefore, he searched everywhere in his room. “Ohh…There you are.” said Oliver and he found a dirty pair of socks under his bed. Oliver quickly put on his socks and went to school while chewing his breakfast and he looked miserable.

Romantic Story

I read a piece of news about a romantic story on TV recently. The story is about a man and a woman who got married to each other. They were classmates in senior high school. When they started a relationship, the woman found an old picture on the man's desk and she was stunned. She pointed at the little boy in the picture. The boy who was standing next to her in an award ceremony is her boyfriend. They met each other when they were in a very young age, but they didn’t know each other at that time. Is it a coincidence? They became classmates, fell in love to each other and got married. It was just like a miracle. Their romantic story was soon drawn into comics.Maybe we can go back and check out old pictures, maybe we were already met our Mr./Mrs. Right.

Run

Phoebe and I have made an important decision starting from today. We planned to run everyday. Since we stayed in Yunlin for the new semester, Phoebe, Fiona and I didn’t know what to eat everyday. Therefore, we ate a lot of sweets, chocolate wafer sticks and bread instead. That really made us gain a lot of weight. Phoebe and I went to the playground at night and we started to run. I couldn’t run for a very long distance, so I walked as well. I hoped exercising everyday can keep me fit.

Home

Yesterday I went home with Phoebe by taking train. Unfortunately, I had to walk home by myself, because my mother went to a business trip and will come home really late. It took me about 15-20 minutes to walk home and it’s tiring. When I went home, I found that there was no one at home. At that time, I really wanted to scream because I didn’t have key. I waited for about 10 minutes. Still, no one came home. Finally, I decided to call my father to open the door for me. It was great to be at home. I always felt very tired whenever I came home. It was like all the pressure had been released. Therefore, I fell asleep on the chair. After sleeping for a while, I was awoken by telephone ring. It was my aunt. She wanted to visit me and my brother. My aunt, my cousins all came to visit. We ate a lot of different ice creams together. I felt sweet about the ice creams and the current feeling. It was always great to be at home!!

Joe Torre

Joe Torre who is Yankees’ previous manager has chosen to leave New York Yankees these days. I was disappointed about the news, because I thought that their principal owner George Steinbrenner might want him to stay longer due to his records in last twelve years. Although Yankees has been exited in first-round for three straight years, I think Joe Torre is a great manager. Personally, I think George Steinbrenner should not cut down on his salary. It could bring more troubles in the near future.

Horrible

One of my friends who studies in National Chin-Yi University of Technology told me that the place where she lives was stolen. It was kind of scary. Because the thief climbed up the balcony and sneaked into their room at night. My two friends lost about 2800 NT dollars. They told me that they didn’t even weak up when the thief came in. But, I thought that it was better not to wake up. I thought they might get hurt if they woke up. All in all, my friends were all safe and sound. I hoped the terrible thing would not happen again.

The story that I made up

My name is Oliver. This summer, some interesting things happened to me and my friend. My best friend, Richard who lives in America told me that he had been lost weight by doing yoga every week. I didn’t believe him at first because I knew that Richard gives up easily. One day, I received a letter from Richard. He invited me to America and spent whole summer vacation with him and his family.

In the airport, I was stunned by what I saw. Richard had been changed totally. He became so fit and looked brilliant. He told me that it was yoga that changed his lifestyle and diet. I was happy to see Richard had such a great result. On the third day in America, Richard took me to a baseball game which was Los Angeles Angels against New York Yankees. Although the game was held in Los Angeles, there are lots of Yankees’ fans. Everyone was uproarious and excited. In the end, Yankees won the game. On the way home, Richard said that he missed ice hockey games when we were in senior high school. We were both great ice hockey players at that time. Richard asked me if I had guts to compete with him again. Both of us were excited to play ice hockey again. We went to a private stadium and played ice hockey there. It was fun but tiring. We were both exhausted. We went home and took a bath before supper. Richard lives with her girlfriend, parents and grandparents all together. Richard’s grandfather, Torre is a kind and industrious man. During supper time, Torre asked me if I want to help him in the field tomorrow. He said that it will be a big harvest this year. I was happy and looked forward to helping Torre in the field because I didn’t have any chance to work in the field before.

On the next day, I woke up early and went to the field with Torre. It was a sunny day. Torre taught me how to water the field and drive pests out. He also told me that some fields in America had been popped with corn circles. It was an unforgotten day in my life.

On my last day in America, Richard drove me to the airport. I saw lots of kids and people playing in the park. They were happy and had big smiles on their face. However, I was misty-eyed. I was going to leave my friends and his family. Richard told me that he always welcome me to America and stay with his family. I felt warm and went to the boarding gate. All in all, I had a memorable summer vacation.

Guitar

I want to learn guitar for a very long time. There is an old guitar that used to belong to my father in our house. However, the guitar doesn’t have strings at all. I kept saying that I wanted to fix the guitar for whole summer. Still, the guitar didn’t get fixed in summer. But, my younger brother who just started his senior high school life joined guitar club this semester. He took the guitar to a guitar shop. Finally, the guitar got fixed. I was so glad that my brother could teach me guitar in the near future.

Disappointment

I love to watch Major League Baseball (MLB) on TV. My favorite team is New York Yankees. However, what made me feel disappointed today was that Yankees lost Game 4 in their own stadium against Indians which means Game 4 loss will end Yankees’ season. As the official site of the New York Yankees said” Yankees’ season ends as October carries on.” What an ironic title! Yankees’ 13th consecutive postseason appearance came to a close with a first-round exit for the third straight year. That might make their manager Joe Torre lose his job in Yankees. No matter what decisions their principal owner George Steinbrenner will make, I will still believe that Yankees do have a great season this year. I’ll always support them as always.

Sports

I sometimes play volleyball with Phoebe and her friends in Yuntech. Phoebe is such a great volleyball player. Every time I see her playing volleyball, she catches the ball with ease. I am so surprised that the ball seems to be move in a slow motion way in front of her. In contrast with Phoebe, I am the most stupid player in the world. Every time I try to catch the ball, I will miss it or hit it but not in the distance I want. Sometimes I will feel so disappointed, but Phoebe always comforts me. Soon I will feel better. Recently, we find that swimming is quiet fun in the hot days. The water is cold but it’s really comfortable. Furthermore, swimming can also lose weight. Ha! Ha! Maybe it is the main reason for us to swim.

Kids

There is a little boy in an English cram school. He looks cute. His name is Eddie. Eddie told me that he loves watching baseball games on TV. His favorite baseball player in Yankees is A-Rod (Alex Rodriguez). He loves in-line skates as well. Nick and Jack who are also in this English cram school are twins. They look cute as well. I really love them. However, every child in the cram school seems to have a busy life. They have to go to different subject cram schools such as painting, dancing and math...and so forth. I wish they could enjoy their childhood more.

Hunger

I choose these pictures because many people die of hunger and
malnutrition while the models die
because they don't want to eat in order to be skinny. This shows a totally different situation between real hunger and hurting themselves. In my opinion, I think we are so lucky to live in the world that is really comfortable for us. We have a home, we have enough food, we have hospitals…etc. A lot of things that we seem to be stand to reason may be a pie in the sky to those who suffer from diseases, hunger or pain. All of us can do is to cherish what we got now. Furthermore, we also can pay more attention to global issues. There are many charity organizations around us, such as “World Vision”. If we have the ability to help, we can try to donate some. It really brings great help to those who suffer.
